Hominghton Road, Coombe Bissett, Wiltshire, SP5 4LR 01722 718852.
About 3 miles south of Salisbury, just off the A354.
There is tarmaced carpark with room for around 6-7 cars and /or bicycles, dogs, tractors, trailors, children, pushchairs, motorcycles and even horses in front of the shop. Dogs can be tied to the dog ring, situated on the wooden gates to the right of the building.
If coming from Salisbury, head out of the city on the A354 signposted to Blandford and Poole. After leaving the city you will pass the ever-popular Bake Farm fruit farm (for the best strawberries and raspberries around) then the road drops down a shallow hill first through a 40mph speed limit and then into a 30mph limit as you enter the village. Be careful for speed traps around here! The main road takes you through the centre of the village, past a turning on the right to Stratford Tony and Broadchalke, then past the Fox and Goose pub on the left hand side (good real ales and food). As you go over the river bridge with the Church facing you turn left onto the Homington Road. The shop is about 50 yards on the left hand side, with a free car park in front of the shop.
If coming from Blandford, carry on along the A354 (its about 20 miles or so). You will cross a huge roundabout in the middle of nowwhere, then keep going along the dual carriageway and past the Wessex Raceway indoor karting centre. After a further 3 miles or so you will drop down a steepish hill into the village, passing through a 50mph limit and then a 30 limit. Houses line the left hand side of the road and watch out for speed traps along there. As the road bears to the right, with the Church set back on the right, take the turning to the right before the river bridge, onto the Homington Road. The shop is about 50 yards on the left hand side, with a free car park in front of the shop.
If coming from Fordingbridge, Ringwood or Bournemouth take the A338 through Ringwood and then Fordingbridge until you reach a short section of dual carriageway. Take the second left, at the end of the dual section, signposted for Odstock and Nunton. Now stay on this road and admire the scenery as you come through the valley. It is about 4 miles, passing through Nunton then Odstock then Homington until you reach Coombe Bissett. As you pass the turning to Coombe Bissett School and Coombe Bissett Village Hall (Shutts Lane) on the left, Coombe Bissett Stores is about 200 yards on the right hand side and you will see our car park in front.
